Nine girl group, later named as' 소녀 시대 (So-Nyuh Shi-dae) "which literally means' Era Girls'. No joke. Even the girl herself was surprised by the ancient name. When the group's name was announced, Korea bewildered and amused at the odd choice of name. Fortunately, they have a 'Girls' Generation' as their English names, rather than literal meaning. The name itself is taken from Lee Seung-chul's 1989 hits ... 'So Nyuh Shi Dae'. I find it interesting how the song was a hit in 1989, the very year in which most members of SNSD was born. And who would think that they managed to live to their name, lead the pack of girl-group domination, two years after they debuted.Interestingly enough, the six girls who live in the group Jessica Jung, Kim Hyoyeon, Kwon Yuri, Choi Sooyoung, Yoona Im, and Seo Juhyun.
